Deanna earned her master’s degree in Social Work in 2020. She has experience working in community mental health and outpatient private practice settings throughout both graduate training and post-graduate residency, providing services to adolescents and adults.

Deanna believes therapy is a collaborative relationship where healing happens through safety, curiosity, and connection. She views symptoms and patterns as often reflecting adaptive responses to past experiences, stress, and relational environments, rather than signs that something is inherently “wrong” with a person.

She values creating a space where clients can feel grounded enough to slow down, explore their internal world, and develop greater trust in themselves. The therapeutic relationship is central to her work and offers both support and honest reflection as clients reconnect with their sense of agency and capacity for change.

Ultimately, Deanna believes therapy should help people not only reduce distress, but also feel more alive, connected, and able to engage fully in their lives.

Deanna’s approach is integrative and trauma-informed, blending nervous system awareness, somatic interventions, mindfulness-based practices, and evidence-based talk therapy. She uses both “top-down” approaches (exploring thoughts, meaning, and insight) and “bottom-up” approaches (working with the body and nervous system) to support deeper and more lasting change.

Sessions often involve slowing down internal experiences to better understand thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and relational dynamics. Deanna has completed ASCH Level 1 Clinical Hypnosis training and integrates this on a client-specific basis.
