Dr. Kathleen Brown has over a decade of experience in the mental health field and has had the privilege of working with clients across a variety of settings, including residential treatment, inpatient hospital care, the Department of Corrections, community mental health, and private practice. In addition to her clinical work, she has taught master’s- and doctoral-level counseling students, allowing her to stay engaged with current research while helping prepare the next generation of counselors.

Dr. Kathleen Brown believes that therapy is most effective when it is built on a genuine, collaborative relationship where clients feel safe, respected, and accepted exactly as they are. Her goal is to create a space where clients can explore difficult emotions without fear of judgment while developing greater self-understanding, resilience, and confidence. She recognizes that every individual brings unique experiences and strengths into the therapy room, and she tailors treatment to meet each client’s specific needs and goals.

Clients can expect sessions to be warm, supportive, and interactive. While Dr. Kathleen Brown primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she also integrates person-centered, mindfulness-based, strengths-based, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches to provide practical tools alongside meaningful self-exploration.

Whether the client is working through immediate challenges or long-standing patterns, Dr. Kathleen Brown strives to help clients leave each session with greater insight, actionable strategies, and hope for lasting change.
